The Centre has programs for athletes of all levels to learn to slide and progress in luge, bobsleigh, or skeleton.

The BC Sliding Development Centre is the heart of sliding programs and athlete development within The Whistler Sliding Centre. It offers programs for all skill levels in bobsleigh, skeleton and luge, from introductory sessions for beginners to full-season training programs. All programs follow a clear athlete pathway. Qualified and passionate coaches look after everyone, from first-timers to experienced athletes.

The Centre’s Goals

  • Grow sliding sports in Western Canada
  • Provide year-round coaching to provincial athletes
  • Outline a clear development pathway for athletes and parents
  • Offer structured programs to send more BC athletes into the national team programs

The BC Sliding Development Centre was formed in 2017, by the Whistler Sliding Centre in cooperation with the BC Luge Association and the BC Bobsleigh and Skeleton Association, with funding by the Province of British Columbia/viaSport.
