The Bobsleigh Pilot Development phase offers a systematic progression for athletes aged 16+ who have completed the Bobsleigh Driving School (or equivalent). It supports sliders at all levels—from emerging pilots to those preparing for national team consideration or public ride piloting. Participants alternate between driving and braking unless they provide their own brakemen. The program consists of several multi-day training camps held from November to March.
Athletes may attend one, multiple, or all camps, depending on their goals and availability. Training includes a mix of on-ice sessions, off-ice seminars, video analysis, strength and conditioning, and equipment education.
These camps are also open to any international athletes interested in sliding on the Whistler track.
