Things to Do in Whistler: Come Sliding in the Winter or in the Summer
About the Whistler Sliding Centre
Perched above Whistler Village, the Centre welcomes visitors and athletes year-round and offers unique public experiences you cannot find anywhere else in Canada.
Winter Sliding: Ice, Speed, and Olympic Thrills
Passenger Bobsleigh (Bobsled)
Ride with a trained pilot through ten high‑speed curves and hit 125+ km per hour on Canada’s only active public sliding track. This is one of Whistler’s most exhilarating winter activities and a genuine bucket list activity.
Public Skeleton
Go face first and reach up to 100 km per hour after a thorough orientation and safety briefing. No experience required.
Discover Bobsleigh: Drive Your Own Bobsled
Learn steering and control from expert coaches, then pilot a beginner‑friendly sled from Curve 7, reaching up to 115 km per hour through thirteen final curves of the Olympic track.
Discover Luge for Youth
Sightseeing and Self‑Guided Tours
Summer Bobsleigh (Bobsled)
Summer Sliding: Warm‑Weather Bobsleigh Runs
When the ice is out, specially designed wheeled bobsleighs run from late June to early September, reaching up to 90 km per hour. Youth ages 12–18 can slide at 50 percent off with a paying adult on select days.
Why Sliding Belongs on Your Whistler Itinerary
The Whistler Sliding Centre is operated by Whistler Sport Legacies, a non-profit that reinvests revenue from public programs into athlete development for bobsleigh, skeleton, and luge. Your visit helps grow sport in British Columbia while creating an unforgettable Olympic experience.
