Job Location: Whistler Olympic Park
The Facilities Maintenance Worker is responsible for performing and overseeing the day-to-day maintenance and repairs for assigned buildings and related facilities, furnishings, and equipment at Whistler Olympic Park. Under the direction of the Supervisor, Maintenance and Operations, this role requires problem solving capabilities, self-direction, and flexibility to assist the team with other activities or initiatives as needed. Whistler Olympic Park infrastructure includes water and waste water treatment plants, visitor day lodge, sport support buildings, maintenance buildings, ski jumping infrastructure, as well as trails and signage. This Regular Full Time role requires the flexibility to work weekends and evenings.

The Guest Service Host/Shuttle Bus Driver is the first point of contact with the Whistler Olympic Park guest either at the entry gate, on the telephone, on the bus, or online and will be cross-trained in all aspects of the department. Shuttle Bus Driver responsibilities include safe pick-up and delivery of guests between their lodging and Whistler Olympic Park. This role provides excellent customer service and assists guests in selection the product or service that most appropriately meets their needs. In addition, the customer service portion of this role endeavors to maximize sales, drives business to target WSL products, and forward customer feedback to the Coordinator, Sport and Recreation Services / Supervisor, Sport and Recreation Services. There is a full time and part time seasonal role available which require the ability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays.

This position involves the general site maintenance of the Whistler Olympic Park. Duties include but are not limited to manual snow clearing, trail maintenance, ski jump preparation, and assisting ski patrol in their activities. Flexibility to work weekends and evenings is required. Role will be casual seasonal and move to full time when conditions and work load warrant.

Volunteer Ambassador, Ski Jump Specialist, is an important component of our sport delivery initiatives at Whistler Olympic Park. Volunteers help in the preparation of ski jumps, training jumps and ski play area. Volunteer Ambassador, Ski Jump Specialist must be a competent and fit alpine skier comfortable working on steep slopes. This a physically demanding role may also include activities at the biathlon range and cross-country trails, or other sport facilities. In addition to physical capacity, volunteers must have enthusiasm for sport delivery and a desire to be part of a team. The Volunteer Ambassador, Ski Jump Specialist role is based on a minimum of 48 hours per season; one 4-hour shift per week-end, or a combination of event coverage and week-end shifts, contributing to a minimum of 12 shifts during the season. Lead-up to weekend events and sport activity occurs on Saturday mornings and for those available there will be a need for occasional support on Fridays and Sundays.

The Volunteer Ambassador, Rental assists guests and visitors to move efficiently through the rental process and onto the snow. The rental shop is often the first point of contact for visitors to Whistler Olympic Park and volunteers require comprehensive knowledge of all programs and services available. Exceptional customer service skills with a personable, outgoing and approachable demeanor are highly valued traits in this role. The Volunteer Ambassador role is based on a minimum of 48 hours per season; one 4-hour shift per week-end, plus mid-week holiday/holiday season shifts, contributing to a minimum of 12 shifts during the season.

The Volunteer Ambassador, School Program, assists Sport Coaches to enhance the instructional experience of guests participating in school programs which is an important component of our sport delivery initiatives. This is a skiing role that requires a competent level of classic and skate skiing. The Volunteer Ambassador, School Program assists coaches with lesson preparation and delivery, staging, equipment issue, group management, supervision and instruction. The Volunteer Ambassador, School Program role is based on a minimum of 48 hours per season; one 4-hour shift per week, contributing to a minimum of 12 shifts during the season. The school program runs Monday to Friday, 10:00am to 2:00pm, December to March.

Volunteer Ambassador, Sport and Events, is an important component of our sport delivery initiatives at Whistler Olympic Park. Volunteers help to prepare facilities for events and training activities. Volunteer Ambassador, Sport and Events participate alongside staff and sport club volunteers primarily in the lead-up to sport events and activities. This can be a physically demanding role and may include activities at the biathlon range, ski jumps, cross-country trails, or other sport facilities. In addition to physical capacity, volunteers must have enthusiasm for sport delivery and a desire to be part of a team. This is a seasonal role with the bulk of activity occurring on Saturday mornings in the lead-up to weekend events and sport activity. For those available, there will occasionally be a need for Friday and Saturday volunteer ambassador support. The Volunteer Ambassador, Sport and Events, role is based on a minimum of 48 hours per season; one 4-hour shift per week-end, or a combination of event coverage and week-end shifts, contributing to a minimum of 12 shifts during the season.

Volunteer Ambassador, Nordic Ski Patrol, plays an integral role within the ski patrol program. This role involves participation alongside a small staff of professional Ski Patrollers and fellow Volunteer Ambassadors. During both daily operations and special events, Volunteer Ambassador, Nordic Ski Patrol, assist to ensure the safety of guests, as well as providing assistance and first aid to all users of the park. In addition to first aid skills, Volunteer Ambassador, Nordic Ski Patrol, must have excellent guest service skills and an enthusiasm for the outdoors, Nordic skiing, and snowshoeing. This is a seasonal role, preferably week-ends and possibly Wednesday evenings. The Volunteer Ambassador, Nordic Ski Patrol, role is based on a minimum of 48 hours per season; one 4-hour shift per week-end, or 1 day every other week-end, or a combination of event coverage and week-end shifts, contributing to a minimum of 12 shifts during the season.

The Volunteer Ambassador, Guest Services, is a member of the Sport and Recreation Services team with the goal of enhancing the Whistler Olympic Park experience for guests and visitors. This position can involve skiing and / or snowshoeing and requires knowledge of the products, services, and facilities available at the Whistler Olympic Park. Volunteer Ambassadors must have a friendly and approachable demeanor as they are a first-line resource for guests in various locations including the gatehouse, Day Lodge, and trail network. Volunteer Ambassador, Guest Services, must have an intimate knowledge of the trails and be able to help guests navigate around our expansive trail system. The Volunteer Ambassador role is based on a minimum of 48 hours per season; one 4-hour shift per week-end and mid-week during holidays/holiday season , contributing to a minimum of 12 shifts during the season.

Volunteer Ambassador, Snowshoe, is an important component of our recreational delivery initiatives at Whistler Olympic Park. Volunteers help in the preparation of the snowshoe trails to a standard appropriate for recreational use by a broad spectrum of users. Volunteer Ambassador, Snowshoe, participate alongside WOP staff to insure trails are packed, safety hazards are identified, and corrective measures carried out. This is a physically demanding role that may include packing trails, chairlift orientation and assistance, ski jump interpretive tours, snow shoveling, fencing, signage, re-routing and other maintenance activities. Volunteers must have enthusiasm for snowshoeing as they will be our ambassadors on the trail and may be asked to do introductory tours and provide trail information to visitors. This is a seasonal role, and requires flexibility to participate week-ends. The Volunteer Ambassador, Snowshoe role is based on a minimum of 48 hours per season; one 4-hour shift per week-end and during holidays/holiday season , contributing to a minimum of 12 shifts during the season.

Under the direction of the Supervisor, Guest Services the Sport the Guest Services Host is the first point of contact for participants in all Whistler Sliding Centre programs. The Sport and Guest Services Host provides administrative and delivery support for all sport and public programs. The Sport and Guest Services Host role is a full time seasonal position and requires flexibility to work evenings and weekends.

The Sport Coach delivers coaching, instructional and educational programs to guests of Whistler Olympic Park (WOP). Reporting to the Supervisor, Sport School and Rental Services duties include excellent customer service and assisting clients in selection of products or services that most appropriately meet their needs. As a member of the Finance team the Coordinator, Payroll and Benefits is responsible for all aspects of full-cycle payroll processing and benefits administration for salary and seasonal employees. This role takes a positive, proactive approach in assisting staff with payroll and benefit information, problem solving, and issue resolution. This is a full time contract role working from Whistler Athletes' Centre.

The Millwright is primarily responsible for the maintenance of ski lift and related mechanical equipment at Whistler Olympic Park. Reporting to the Supervisor Mechanical Maintenance / Snow Clearing this role will also assist with maintenance of fleet vehicles including motor vehicles, sno-cats, snowmobiles, snow-clearing equipment, ATV’s, small motors, and other such machinery at Whistler Olympic Park. This is a one to two day per week Casual seasonal role and requires flexibility to work weekends and nights.

This role is the communications hub between teachers, sport clubs, corporate groups, and colleagues. This is a seasonal role and requires the ability to work weekends, evenings and holidays. Full and Part time role available.

The Coordinator, Sport WOP is responsible for ensuring the appropriate field of play preparation and coordinated sport program delivery for Ski Jumping, Nordic Combined, Cross Country and Biathlon at Whistler Olympic Park. This role is focused on the delivery of high quality programming, well prepared facilities, and excellent customer service of sport programs that encompass grass roots development through to high performance training and competition. This Full time position requires ability to work evenings and weekends.

The Supervisor, Sport School and Rental Services, oversees the day-to-day staff and program scheduling, financial reporting, and operation of the Sport School and Rental Shop at Whistler Olympic Park. Reporting to the Manager, Sport this role works collaboratively with the Booking Agent and other venue staff ensuring seamless and safe delivery of all WOP Sport school and rental services while delivering excellent customer service. Responsibilities include managing all aspects of Sport School and Rental Services: training, Point-of-Sale system, scheduling, volunteers, Sport Coaches, and delivery of WSL’s guest service philosophy. This is a seasonal role and requires ability to work weekends and evenings. Full time and Part time role available.

The Booking Agent facilitates the promotion, sales, and booking of sport school instructional programs at Whistler Olympic Park using telephone, email, and online communication tools. Working in concert with the Supervisor, Sport School and Rental Operations this role also ensures efficient and cost effective scheduling of Sport School staff. Under the direction of the Manager, Sport this role ensures the optimum guest experience. This is a seasonal role and requires ability to work weekends and evenings. The Housekeeper will be responsible for the cleanliness of guest rooms, hallways, washrooms and all public areas of WAC. The successful candidate will be well organized and friendly, will work well within a team, and must believe that all interactions matter when it comes to guest service. The successful candidate will maintain a high standard of cleanliness in the Whistler Athletes Lodge, Town Home and the High Performance Centre. This is a Casual position and will require flexibility to assist the team with other activities or initiatives.

The Winch Cat Operator at Whistler Olympic Park plays a key role in developing athletes for future Olympics by providing ideal conditions to learn and train on. The precise requirements of Ski Jumping and weather conditions of the Callaghan Valley provide an ideal challenge for the experienced operator to expand their skills and learn something new every day. The Winch Cat Operator is responsible for the day-to-day grooming and snow management of the Whistler Olympic Park ski jumps, snow and ski play areas, baseboarding slope as well as assisting the trail groomers. The safe and careful operation of a modern fleet of Pisten Bully and Prinoth snow cats, as well as snowmobile grooming equipment is required. This is a seasonal full time role and requires flexibility to work weekends and nights.
